Dental crowns are used to strengthen and improve the look of weakened, damaged or broken teeth. They are carefully shaped to sit perfectly on top of your existing teeth, and coloured to match your natural smile. The accurate fit of dental crowns ensures that they sit comfortably in the mouth and function just like natural teeth.

Crowns are a highly durable and natural-looking solution for a number of dental concerns. In addition to restoring the strength of weakened or broken teeth, they can also cover unsightly fillings or substantial staining. A dental crown can also be combined with dental implant to provide a complete replacement for a missing tooth.
Before your crown can be placed, the dentist will first gently remove a fine layer of enamel from the affected tooth and reshape it to allow a precise and comfortable fit. An impression is then taken for the new restoration to be individually crafted. A temporary crown will be fitted to protect the tooth until the new permanent one is ready. At the final fitting a special cement is used to secure the crown firmly into position.
